Great Bowerbird
I set up a remote camera trap to film the intricate behaviour of the Great Bowerbird. This bird had collected an asortment of shells and mudcrab claws from the surrounding mangroves.
As the female watched on, he put on an energetic performance and his vibrant crown emerged. He then began to display his prized trinkets of green glass and fruits to dazzle his potential mate.
Watching back the footage I noticed that the female would often pull apart the bower if she was unimpressed by the performance.
