Loggerhead Turtle Hatchlings, Limited Edition of 100
Loggerhead Turtle Hatchlings
This is a ready to hang framed print (55cm x 55cm) with a signed certificate of authenticity. They are a limited to 100 prints.
While on an early morning beach walk, we noticed a dingo patrolling the beach. The dingo seemed to have a sense that something incredible was about to unfold. Seagulls had begun to gather at the waters edge. Nestled within a small sand dune the first of many turtle eyes emerged. The turtles were motionless for a while as if to survey their surroundings. Before long, a frenzy of activity erupted from the nest as countless brave turtles began their dangerous journey towards the mighty ocean.
After 35 years, a female loggerhead turtle from this nest may reach maturity, only then will she return to this very same beach to lay her own eggs.
Note: Look closely, the story of my wildlife encounters from that day are hidden within the grains of sand.
This is a print of a watercolour by Tom Montgomery.
